Paul Dano, who you may remember as the mute brother in “Little Miss Sunshine,” took on a much different kind of role for his new film “The Extra Man,” co-starring Katie Holmes and Kevin Kline. To prepare for the role of Louis Ives, a struggling, cross-dressing writer, Dano took drag lessons and even competed in a transvestite beauty contest so he could fully understand his character.
