Daniel Craig has officially been cast as journalist Mikael Blomkvist in the U.S. movie version of “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo,” based on the first book in the Stieg Larsson series. I give this casting my stamp of approval, not that they asked. He is just sexy-ugly enough to play the surprising ladies’ man. The character of Lisbeth Salander is still uncast, but after seeing “The Runaways” this weekend, I am praying for one thing and one thing only — please God, not Kristen Stewart. I also watched the Swedish version of “Dragon Tattoo” and was blown away by the performances of both of the lead actors, particularly the woman who plays Lisbeth, Noomi Rapace. I wish she could speak English and play Lisbeth in the American film too — and then win the Oscar. She’s that good. [L.A. Times]
