The Cast Of “Jersey Shore” Is On Strike
What do we want? More booze! When do we want it? Now! I imagine that this is what the cast of “Jersey Shore” is chanting now that they are on strike. Sources are reporting that J-Woww, Ronnie, Sammi, Pauly D, and Vinny were supposed to begin filming for season three of the show today, but told camera crew nuh-uh since there is still debate over their contracts. The Situation and Snooki are scheduled to start tomorrow, and the word on the street is that they will refuse, too, since they think they can earn more duckets doing appearances than filming the show. [TMZ] So what’s happening? The issue seems to stem from the fact that MTV has split up the current filming session into two seasons—one in Miami and one back in Jersey. But rather than calling this season 2 and 3, they are calling it cycle “2A” and cycle “2B.” A source explains, “MTV is taking the position that they are still in season 2, even though the cast may look at it as season 3 and therefore not covered by their existing deals.” [Radar]
So will the contract issues get resolved? Here’s hoping this doesn’t go down like the writers strike a few years back. I mean, what would we do without our GTL and bar fights?
