The Boob Tube: Must-See TV For The Week Of July 19, 2010
Did you guys know that season four of “Mad Men” premieres this Sunday? Yes, it’s very exciting, but it’s not nearly the only awesome thing going down on the small screen this week. There’s also VH1’s “Do Something Awards,” the season four premiere of “Mad Men,” fresh episodes of “Degrassi,” the season four series premiere of “Mad Men,” the continuation of MTV’s “Teen Mom” and, of course, the season four premiere of “Mad Men.” After the jump, previews and more.
The Show: VH1 Do Something Awards
Set Your DVR For: Tonight, 9pm (EST), VH1
I am so over award shows. So luckily this one, which celebrates stars and civilians who give their time and money to great causes, has found the one way to rope me in. Jane Lynch is hosting!
The Show: “RuPaul’s Drag U”
Set Your DVR For: Tonight, 9pm (EST), Logo
“RuPaul’s Drag Race” is kind of one of the best shows ever. But this spin-off series looks even better. The series takes frumpy, down-on-life women and has a cast of drag queens coach them on fabulosity.
The Show: “Degrassi: The Boiling Point”
Set Your DVR For: Tonight, 9pm (EST), TeenNick
Sure, this cast of “Degrassi” is nowhere near as good as when Drake played Jimmy and palled around with Spinner, Paige, Emma, Manny, Marco, etc. But hey, we’ve already seen all those episodes at least twice a piece. So we’ll take what we can get with the newest new generation—which is six weeks of fresh episodes every weeknight.
The Show: “Teen Mom”
Set Your DVR For: Tuesday, 10pm (EST), MTV
This docu-series is pretty amazing. I’m excited to continue to follow the lives of Maci, Amber, Farrah, and Catelynn now that their children are a year-and-a-half old.
The Show: “Mad Men”
Set Your DVR For: Sunday, 10pm (EST), AMC
Duh. Season four of “Mad Men” starts this week. It’s a year later, and Cooper Draper Pryce is off to a decent start. Also, Betty Draper is remarried and not so happily. Cannot. Wait.
