Jail Might Be The Best Thing To Happen To Lohan’s Leggings Business

Did you know that after Paris Hilton got out of jail, she made an appearance at Hollywood store Kitson to promote her fashion line and attracted such crowds that the surrounding area was shut down by police? Kitson store owner Fraser Ross tells WWD that Lindsay Lohan could experience a similar reaction. “Maybe Lindsay could use this to her benefit,” he suggests, adding that she “should make sure she’s wearing her line when she gets out of jail.” As they say: all press is good press, and Lindsay’s impending jail sentence might actually make fans more supportive and draw more interest in her leggings brand, 6126, which hasn’t exactly been a runaway success. Jeff Vansinderen, a retail analyst not associated with 6126, gave his two cents: “It’s not necessarily a bad thing,” he said. “At the end of the day it may not hurt, and it could even help sales in an ironic and twisted way. It would help if she is successful in her recovery and fans get behind her. Then she could use that to her benefit to promote the line.”
Knowing this, do you think it would be wrong of Lindsay to leverage her low point with the law to garner sympathy? Or should she be doing everything she can to get back on track—in life and in business?
