Win This! Avon Advance Techniques Frizz Control Lotus Shield

Calling all curly girlies! I have frizzy hair, and I’m proud of it. But that doesn’t stop me from doing everything in my power to get my curls under control. I’ve tried it all — from Japanese hair treatments to the most expensive salon products — and I have a very strict haircare routine. Curls are a tricky business, after all! Yet I’m always willing to try a new product, like Avon’s Advance Techniques Frizz Control Lotus Shield, which literally repels water from hair by forming a barrier that blocks humidity. It took a bit of trial and error for me to figure out the best way to use this product on my hair, though.I used it the first time after shampooing my hair, in place of my leave-in conditioner. Big mistake! This product is so good at repelling water that all the moisture went straight to my ends. I squeezed out the water, which also washed away the product, so I ended up with dried, frizzy ends. For round two, I took a different approach. I used my usual cream leave-in conditioner, and waited until my hair was almost dry before using the Lotus Shield. The results were much better. It worked as a sealant and smoothed out the frizz, leaving me with soft, bouncy curls.

I recommend the Lotus Shield as a supplement, not a replacement, of a leave-in conditioner or mousse. But if you’re a curly hair girl still searching for an anti-frizz product that delivers on its promise, then Avon’s Advance Techniques Lotus Shield might be right for you. [$12, Avon]
