Last week in New York City, fashion designers who primarily create clothing for plus-size women showed their latest collections at Full Figure Fashion Week. Like the designs shown during “regular ol’” fashion week, the looks ran the gamut from comfortable and chic sportswear to edgier high-fashion looks. Personally, some of the clothes were too costume-y for my tastes, but I absolutely loved the chic coats from designer LaDan’s Closet. I also loved seeing that some of the designers went against traditional and ridiculous fashion “rules,” proving that full figured women can absolutely rock a pair of skinny pants with the best of ‘em. Click through the slideshow to see some of the looks — photos were depressingly limited, I’m afraid, but hopefully as more designers realize what a huge market there is for chic plus-size fashions, the more attention Full Figure Fashion Week will get in the years to come!
