The Vampire Craze Goes Musical

I love a good spooky vampire story just as much as the next gal. As a kid I watched “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Angel” religiously. I’m addicted to “True Blood” and was totally down with “Twilight,” until it became weird and cultish. But recently, I’ve started to become a bit wary of the blood-sucking craze. I mean, “The Vampire Diaries” looks craptastic. But now someone has taken the obsession to new heights. A rock musical called “I Kissed A Vampire!” will be making an appearance at the Seattle International Film Festival. It stars Lucas Grabeel and Drew Seeley of of “High School Musical,” plus newcomer Adrian Slade. The flick is about a boy who gets bitten by an exchange student and turns into a vampire. The dude’s fangs pop out every time he gets close to the girl he likes which, if you ask me, sounds a whole lot like “Twilight.” Nonetheless, the girl totally wants his bod and she eventually gets bitten. When the chick starts dressing goth and eating raw meat, she flips and the two decide they have to find a cure. I’m sort of yearning for the old days when vampires were evil and dangerous, not smitten and corny. What about you? [I Kissed A Vampire]
