In April, Jeremy London—who played Griffin on “Party of Five” (not to be mixed up with his twin brother, Jason London of “Dazed and Confused” fame)—sat down with People to talk about his battle with prescription pill addiction. He lost his wife and custody of his son because it got so bad, until he went to rehab last summer. He’s been clean since.
But today comes a bizarre story. Last Thursday night, Jeremy was kidnapped for five hours. Jeremy says that he was changing his tire when he was robbed at gunpoint. The robbers then forced him to drive them around in his car. The sergeant in the case says, “[Jeremy] told officers that he was forced to smoke dope and then purchase booze and hand it out in a gang area of Palm Springs.” He managed to escape at 3 a.m. His car was later abandoned.
Now, the cynic in us upon first hearing this story thought, “Yeah, right. Why would robbers waste their drugs? Is this code for “I’ve found a new drug,’ but want to cover my tracks?” But the incident looks completely legit—two suspects have even been arrested. A source tells Radar, “Jeremy said it was a terrorizing experience. He spent hours thinking he was going to die and he did what he had to do not to end up shot.” [Radar]
So, sorry this happened to you, Jeremy. It sounds traumatizing.
