I’ve found a miracle in a pot, and, no, I’m not talking illicit drugs. I’m basically obsessed with my latest multi-tasking makeup find. Illamasqua, a British cosmetic company that crossed the pond about a year ago, is known for its bold and vibrant makeup colors, so I was super excited when Catherine (miss ya, girl!) handed me a pot of Pure Pigment in Static, an iridescent purplish-pink.I’d been in an eye makeup rut for months, preferring to wear mascara and letting my bold lipstick do the talking. So, I tried the Pure Pigment under my brows to ease back into accentuating my eyes. It was a beautiful highlight that was only visible at certain angles. The first day of wearing it, I received so many compliments that I knew I had to try Static on more areas of my face. So the second day, I dabbed a bit (a little goes a long way) along the tops of my cheekbones and swirled it on the apples of my cheeks. Then I topped it with my normal bronzer. The result was a healthy glow that looked like a professionally-created sheen when my skin became oily. I was hooked after that and experimented some more with this product. It went well with my purple eyeshadow, but I think it would also look great with a gold, bronze, or dark gray one. Pure Pigment in Static is a multi-tasking cosmetic that will definitely pull its weight in any woman’s makeup bag, regardless of her skin tone. [$24, Sephora]
