Album Drop: This Week’s New Releases, From Devo To Drake

It’s one hot Tuesday, and girl, the new release jams are gonna make you sweat. For one, today is the official return of the raditude that is ’80s nerd dance group Devo. Meanwhile, Young Money drops Drake’s album; Robyn has us rockin’ out; The Like give us more to love; and We Are Scientists stick to their formula. So, let’s get into the groove, after the jump.

Devo, Something For Everybody
It’s been 20 years since their last record, so somebody finally cracked that whip. And now, they’re back like nerd aliens returning to earth with a space age dance imperative. The record is rad and well worth the wait.

Robyn, Body Talk PT1
Suped-up girlie dance fun from Sweden.

Drake, Thank Me Later
The Young Money main man busts out his own record with the help of the likes of Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Timbaland, and Swizz Beats. Some tracks, like this video, show his more likable, softer side. But sometimes Drake gets caught up posing in a way that makes him seem like a bad rapper parody. Like this lyric from “Miss Me”: “I will have a model wife, yo bitch is as hot as ice.” Um, thanks? Maybe it’s hard to live up to all the hype, but if you ask me, Drake needs to get schooled back at “Degrassi.”

We Are Scientists, Barbara
The braniacs are back with another hipster pop album.

The Like, Release Me
A swinging mod and totes relatable girl group.
