The Alexander McQueen brand is considering suing candy maker Cadbury for ganking their style. While we acknowledge that the new Cadbury Flake commercial (right) does resemble the Kate Moss hologram that floated above the McQueen runway a few years back, we still don’t get it. Why does McQueen care about a few similarities when the products each company is selling are entirely different? Even if the same people who go to runway shows and buy $2,500 dresses are big Cadbury consumers — which they’re not, let’s face it — and the commercial for Flake will drive them so mad over chocolate that they spend all their money on that instead of McQueen clothes — which it won’t — we don’t see a reason for the anger, McQueen. Sounds a lot like a frivolous lawsuit to us. [Elle UK]
