Apparently, the world can’t get enough of pint-sized beauty queens and toddlers in tiaras because the Miss America pageant decided to expand its empire to include a clothing line for miniature divas! Where once stage moms dressed their mini-mes in poofy skirts and kitten heels from the local pageant store, now they can put them in French terry hoodies, purses, rugby-striped polo dresses, bathrobes, and ballet slippers — all for under $25 and preciously decorated with the requisite tiaras, sparkle, and stars. On the plus side, the line is vaguely age-appropriate in that there aren’t any midriff-baring shirts or skimpy skirts, and the makers claim the focus is on empowerment and positive self-esteem in young girls. Uh-huh. [WWD]
