Joran Van Der Sloot A Murder Suspect. Again.
Joran Van Der Sloot, 22, has the world’s creepiest name. And he’s a suspect in a murder trial. Again. If his name sounds familiar, it’s because this Dutch dude was arrested twice in connection with the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, once shortly after she disappeared during a graduation trip to Aruba in 2005 and again in 2007. In 2008, a Dutch reporter recorded Van Der Sloot allegedly telling a friend how he hid Holloway’s body (which hasn’t been found)—but Van Der Sloot has denied that was what he was referring to.
Now Stephany Flores Ramirez, the 21-year-old daughter of Peruvian racecar driver Ricardo Flores, is missing — and she was last seen with Van Der Sloot. She disappeared last Friday and on Wednesday was found stabbed and wrapped in a blanket in a hotel room registered in Van Der Sloot’s name. He has been named the prime suspect in the case. He left Peru on Monday and is now in Chile, where he’s been picked up by Chilean police.
Of course, there is no conclusive evidence in either of these cases—only circumstantial. But it’s pretty sketchy for one guy to be so closely tied to two murders. Here’s hoping the police get to the bottom of this. And that Van Der Sloot doesn’t meet anymore women during his travels. [People]
