You know what gets old? How actors are always saying how much they hate watching themselves onscreen. Most claim that their voice gives them the heebie-jeebies, and some go as far as to diss their own movies and TV shows. I’ve never been able to figure out if they’re for real, or if they just say it to sound humble. Either way … lame. So it felt like a breath of fresh air when, after the season finale of “Lost,” Terry O’Quinn (who played John Locke) told Jimmy Kimmel that he loves watching himself on TV. That’s the spirit, Terry! In his honor, I wanted to do a slideshow of stars who say they love watching themselves perform. But I was only able to find two others. Find out who they are after the jump.
- “True Blood” actor Alexander Skarsgard admitted that he likes watching his shows when they air on TV. He said, “I’m like a drug to myself.” Frankly, I can’t blame him because “True Blood” is so darn good I can hardly wait a week to see a new episode. And, duh, he’s finnne.
- In 2007, Gerard Butler was caught going to a showing of his flick “300.” And why wouldn’t he? It was his first big movie, even though, for the record, I’d like to add that this was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. [Just Jared]
Why do you think stars are so committed to hating on themselves?
