Should She Return Her Engagement Ring?
It’s one of those age-old debates—when an engagement is called off, should the woman return the ring or can she keep it? Last month, a New York judge ordered a woman to return her rock to her fiance, which she thought was totally unfair because he had cheated and caused her “emotional distress” in the process. Colette DiPierro, 28, of Staten Island, is in a similar position. She is being sued by her ex fiance to give the $17K ring back and will be heading to court soon. But, she claims that she’s keeping the ring as collateral for money he owes her for rent and other bills. Plus, she says, the ring was also a birthday gift. Earlier this week, she headed to “The Wendy Williams Show” to argue her case. Hear what she has to say above. What do you think? Should she be legally forced to return the ring?
