Legendary singer and actress Lena Horne died Sunday night at the age of 92, after a long and illustrious career in Hollywood. The first black performer signed to a long-term contract by a major Hollywood Studio, I first became aware of Lena Horne as a youngster, when she appeared on “Sesame Street” and sang “It’s Not Easy Being Green” with Kermit the Frog.
