The two wanted to challenge the fashion industry’s elite outlook and high prices. Daisy’s explanation of X-Girl sums up the way we wish more people would think about fashion these days, being that, “We’re used to shopping in thrift stores … so for us to pay $60 for something, that’s like the most we’re ever going to pay … unless my mother’s paying.” Check out this footage from a 1994 X-Girl fashion show, set in the streets of Soho.
