We’re Lovefools For Nina Persson’s (Of The Cardigans) Designs

The Cardigans know a thing or two about playing a lot of roles in life. After all, they did once sing: “I’ve been your mother, I’ve been your father … I’ve been your sister, I’ve been your mistress.” Lead singer Nina Persson is adding a new label to her life. She’s collaborated with a Swedish fashion brand called Hope to create a special capsule collection. The pieces are romantic and vintage-inspired, but not over-designed. It would seem Persson, who hadn’t ever thought about dabbling in fashion before, took a restrained but practical approach to the line. She says, “I’m not a designer, so it felt like it would be ridiculous for me to try something complicated, avant-garde. No one wants to see Nina Persson attempting couture, you know? So … we went through my closet, and I pulled out all these things I love but that I’ve always wished were different in some small way … We just merged my favorite things together, that’s it. Not very ambitious.”Persson sure is humble, but it’s still pretty cool to see something creative from one of our favorite ’90s bands. While we haven’t heard a peep from The Cardigans for years, Persson apparently has all sorts of new bands and albums in the works. Let’s hope this is just the beginning. [Style.com]
