Recently I wrote a Girl Talk essay about my desire, however shallow, to be called beautiful. Many of you responded and the general consensus was that, yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and very hard to define. Rather than attempt to define it, which I think is a pretty masochistic endeavor, I decided to ask the guys on my IM what it is they find beautiful in a woman. I kept the question pretty simple, because I think how they interpreted the question would be sort of revealing too — is beauty primarily about the physical? Or is it something that transcends looks? I got some pretty great answers, but I was surprised to discover that while “beauty” is hard to describe, “pretty,” “cute,” and “hot” are a whole lot easier …
