Remote Control: What You’ll Want To Watch The Week Of April 5th 2010
Oh, television, you are a good companion. Thank you for always providing a good time and never talking back. After the jump, some shows to look forward to this week, from the premieres of “Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood,” “The Tudors,” and “What Chili Wants” to soon-to-be classic episodes of “Gossip Girl” and “Saturday Night Live.”
The Show: “Gossip Girl”
Set Your DVR For: Monday, 9pm (EST), The CW
This season of “Gossip Girl” is getting really good. Will Jenny’s attempt to win Nate back from Serena work? Will Blaire sleep with Chuck’s cousin to get his hotel back? This is the way we like the show—scandal-tastic.
The Show: “Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood”
Set Your DVR For: Monday, 10pm (EST), Oxygen
Can you believe this show is already on season five? Strange, right? At this point, the focus of the show is on fighting and bickering, which isn’t so fun. But we do love the new term “guncle”—gay uncle—that the not-so-happy couple introduces this episode.
The Show: “Saturday Night Live”
Set Your DVR For: Saturday, 11:30pm (EST), NBC
Perhaps the awesomest host/musical guest combination ever: Tina Fey and Justin Bieber. Hawt.
The Show: “The Tudors”
Set Your DVR For: Sunday, 9pm (EST), Showtime
This is, sigh, the final season of “The Tudors,” and there’s a brand new queen on the block, 17-year-old Catherine Howard. Who’s about to get busy with one of Henry VIII’s rivals. Heads will roll, as they say.
The Show: “What Chili Wants”
Set Your DVR For: Sunday, 10:30pm (EST), VH1
This new reality show follows Chili of TLC on the hunt for Mr. Awesome, with the help of a love expert. Too bad her standards are insane. Even Missy Elliott tells her so!
