If you’re going to buy a leather jacket, invest in a good one. Aside from looking junky, cheap leather has a nasty habit of cracking and wearing out long before you’d like it to. That said, you can keep the price at a relatively reasonable level and still walk away with something that looks as classy as it does badass. For something like that, check out VEDA. We love their asymmetrical styling, cool fabric details and buttery-soft leather. The general Rick Owens/Yigal Azrouel look for one-quarter the price can’t be beat. Their standalone store on New York’s Lower East Side is packed with decently priced ($300-$600), edgy leather pieces from jackets to vests, dresses and leggings. And if you’re not quite in the neighborhood, stores like Intermix, Nordstrom and Otte have caught on and started carrying the line, too. See something on VEDA’s site that you can’t find through one of their stockists? Call up the store and they’ll try to track it down for you. [ThisIsVeda.com]
