If you’re a lover of lady mags like we are, then you’ve probably noticed advertisements for Balenciaga Paris in almost every April issue. It’s kind of difficult to get the full effect with those paper fragrance testers so I got my hands on an actual bottle of this new scent. My first thought after the first spritz was: “old money.” I don’t mean that Balenciaga Paris smells like dirty paper, but it does remind me of the Upper East Side where people are either born or marry into wealth. The notes of violet, pepper, and blossoms combine into a very mature scent that isn’t at all old lady-ish. I wouldn’t wear this fragrance on a regular basis because it’s a little too sexy for work. Instead, I’d spray a little on my pulse points when I want to seem mysterious while doing a little man scoping at night. Balenciaga Paris and a sultry dress might just be all that’s necessary to leave a lasting impression on a cutie. [$95 for 1.7 oz. and $130 for 2.5 oz., Neiman Marcus]
