Beauty Test Drive: Living Proof’s No Frizz Restyling Spray
The other day Catherine handed me a bottle of something and said, “Hey, I was thinking you might want to try this for a Beauty Test Drive. Since you’re not into washing your hair and showering.” That smart-ass is referring to the fact that during the winter I’m not too keen on drying out my skin and hair with overexposure to harsh things like water and soap. (A beauty regimen also followed by the aforementioned smart-ass, as well as our own Style Editor, Erin. So it’s en vogue.)Anyway, back to the bottle of something, which was actually Living Proof’s “No Frizz Restyling Spray.” The product works similarly to a dry shampoo and is supposed to keep your hair all light and bouncy and refreshed in between those pesky washes. You spray it on your dry hair until it’s slightly damp and then give it a quick blow-dry (on my thick hair this still only took less than a minute). If you have curly hair you can also just scrunch and let air-dry.
Though my hair definitely does not need to be washed every day, it can definitely use a little perking up on days when I don’t. I tested the spray over the course of about a week and was pretty darn satisfied with the results. It gave my hair more polish when I applied it in the morning and had a nice, herby scent (I can’t put my finger on what specifically). It has a light hold so you don’t to be too liberal with the application, but overall, I definitely noticed that my hair had more of a just washed look and feel to it, even though it totally wasn’t. This was especially beneficial in my bang area, as that’s the part of my haircut that starts to look a little worse for wear.
In short, Living Proof’s “No Frizz Restyling Spray” worked its magic on my thick locks, but it’s hard to say whether it would be as awesome on finer hair. Catherine may just have to test it out herself and report back. [$19.50, QVC]
