Yesterday, a handful of fashion editors were treated to a private showing of Alexander McQueen‘s fall collection, a mix of Hieronymus Bosch and other great artist-inspired prints that, as Suzy Menkes put it, embodied “the designer’s exceptional reach from historic past to cyberspace future.” The models wore mystical-looking golden mohawks, the shoes were outrageous, and of course, the couture-quality clothes were absolutely transcendent. If you’d like to see the 16 looks up close — and you should, the level of detail is insane — click on their hyper zoom-friendly slideshow. [New York Times]
