Lindsay Lohan Sues E-Trade Over Commercial

Lindsay Lohan’s career is so far in the toilet, especially after Ungaro put her on time-out, that now she’s taking legal steps to earn money. Lindz has filed a lawsuit against the financial firm E-Trade for a commercial that shows a baby boy trading on the stock market and apologizing to his girlfriend for not calling the night before. The baby girl becomes suspicious and asks if he was with “that milkaholic Lindsay.” The actress and her lawyer say E-Trade was referring to Lindsay because she is just as recognizable by her first name as other celebs with single-word monikers, like Madonna and Beyonce. Her lawyer alleges that the firm used Lindsay’s “name and characterization” without any monetary compensation or her approval, which is a violation of her rights. Lindsay filed the lawsuit on March 8 and is seeking $50 million in exemplary damages and $50 million in compensation. The advertising firm that created the commercial dismisses her claims, saying “they used a popular baby name that happened to be the name of someone on the account team.”

The interesting aspect of this lawsuit is that Lindsay admits to and wants to profit from her reputation as an addict and boyfriend stealer. [Starpulse]
