When it comes to fashion, there’s good quilted (think the classic Chanel bag), and there’s, well, this. While normally respectable houses like Balmain, Marc Jacobs, Burberry and Miu Miu have all recently sent patchwork renditions down their runways, we have to draw the line at PPQ’s head-to-toe concoctions. In fact, it brings to mind my pretty standard rule of thumb when it comes to evaluating trends from the runway to the realway: If it looks bad on the models, you know you’ll be in trouble.
