Now, a similar concept is being applied to a new wrinkle treatment called the Selphyl System. A “face filler,” the process starts by taking your body’s own platelets (acquired by separating the components of your blood), which is then pumped back into areas on your face where there are fine lines and wrinkles. Supposedly, the platelets stimulate collagen production, which contours skin depressions.
