Look closely and you’ll see that the black Barbie dolls at this Midwest store are almost 50 percent cheaper than the white dolls. But instead of harping on the racial issues this sale exhibits, we’ll simply say this gives everyone an opportunity to buy their daughters a non-white doll, thereby proving to Mattel, which has a tendency to produce collectible Barbies only in Caucasian skin tones, that non-white dolls have just as much value to consumers.
