Marie Osmond’s Son Michael Commits Suicide

Another sad death over the weekend. On Friday night, Marie Osmond’s son, Michael Blosil, sent an unsettling text message to a friend in his apartment building who he was supposed to hang out with that night. She rushed upstairs to his apartment, where his roommates had no idea anything was wrong. They went into Michael’s room, and found a suicide note. A few minutes later, they heard the sound of sirens outside. Michael had jumped off the 15th floor of the building and died. Michael was one of Marie’s eight children—he was adopted in the early ’90s. He’d battled depression for years, and went to rehab in 2007. But he seemed to have cleaned up his act, finishing high school with good grades and enrolling in the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, where he’d been studying apparel marketing. “My family and I are devastated and in deep shock by the tragic loss of our dear Michael,” Marie said in her statement. “We ask that everyone respect our privacy during this difficult time.”

Rock ‘n’ roll brother Donny added, “Please pray for my sister and her family.”
