I’m a recovering obsessive nail polisher. And by that I’m not trying to say that I get a manicure every week; I mean that I used to paint my nails as often as every day at worst and two to three times a week at best. It’s been suggested that I had “a problem” and needed to “seek medical attention,” but what the haters didn’t understand was how easily polish chips and flakes and how horrible it is to have a flaky manicure. When I found Seche Vite top coat a couple years back, I was able to cut down from daily paintings. Now, Sephora base coat by OPI is letting me act even less like a junkie with its extreme awesomeness. Top coat is great for avoiding chipping, but few realize that it’s a good base coat that keeps polish affixed to your nails more than the top coat or the polish itself. Most top coats, however, aren’t tacky enough to actually grab the polish and keep it in place, resulting in peeling and general sloppiness after only a couple days. Not so much with OPI for Sephora though. I’m currently going a week strong with the same manicure and there’s not a chip in sight. If you can’t stand polish imperfections, this one’s a must try.
