Craig Lawrence’s Fall Collection Gets Better At Second Glance

To simply view photos of Craig Lawrence’s knitwear collection isn’t enough to appreciate his unconventional designs. In fact, his Muppet-ish designs are downright laughable in photos. The best way to experience his fall/winter 2010 collection is through a video inspired by the abdication of crowns and which features model Anastasia Kuznetsova morphing — bending and twisting — from a sheer nude gown to a gold foil jacket. She’d probably look like a weather balloon in a still photo, but in the video Kuznetsova resembles an avant-garde tree at one point and a true rock star at another. Now that Lawrence has broken out on his own — after designing for another talented and far-out designer, Gareth Pugh — he’s definitely a couture force to be reckoned with. [Trend.Land]
