Prabal Gurung Does The Robot

I ran into MAC makeup artist and our Kiki T’s pal Stevie Huynh backstage at Nepalese designer Prabal Gurung’s show, and I can’t think of any prettier makeup I’ve seen so far. Stevie was all about creating the most gorgeous skin to match Prabal’s time of the Android aesthetic, and he really did create an otherworldly look. He used MAC Strobe Liquid to build glowing, iridescent complexions on the models –“I’m going for a hyper-real quality,” he said — then blended MAC Pigments in Vanilla and White for super pronounced highlights on their foreheads and cheekbones. The finishing touch? A Cherry Lip Pencil with red powder pigment patted on top.

Bumble and Bumble hairstylist Jimmy Paul wanted the hair to be “aggressive, scary and shocking,” so he used Bumble’s Holding Spray to tease hair into smooth, sculptural faux-hawks. The whole futuristic angle must have made sense for “Avatar” star Zoe Saldana, whom we spotted perched in the front row. A closer look, after the jump …

Who doesn’t love a faux-hawk?

Obviously, my wiggety-wack photos don’t do the makeup justice.
