Highlights (Or Lowlights?) Of The 2010 Razzie Nominations

The recent announcement of Academy Award nominations may have people blogging, talking, tweeting and a host of other verbs ending in -ing about the best films of the past year. But what about the worst? To keep things in perspective, on the same day of the Oscar nomination announcements, the Razzies also released their nods. For those who don’t know, the Razzies are the awards created to celebrate, or at least point fingers at, the worst films and performances of the year. And this year, like most, they seem to have done a pretty accurate job, even if they did pick on “New Moon“—gasp. The biggest buzz of these nominations is around Sandra Bullock’s powers of duality, as she could potentially be this year’s worst actress (for “All About Steve”) and the best (“The Blind Side”). The only other woman to be bestowed these two awards was Halle Berry, who won the Oscar for “Monster’s Ball” and the Razzie for “Catwoman.” But those wins were three years apart. Bullock could be the first to get both in the same movie season, a fact she says she is proud of.

Other highlights include several attacks on teeny-bopper heartthrobs. Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner both have a chance to win worst on-screen couple with the infamous lip-biting, hair-flipping Kristen Stewart. Also in the couples category—two Jonas Brothers for their performance in “Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert Experience.” How about an early retirement JoBros? Just a suggestion! [Golden Derby]
