As we get further and further into 2010, hairstyles are shifting to the side. (Examples: The ubiquitous side-swept hair at the SAG Awards this past weekend and all the side-updos and hairstyles at the spring 2010 fashion shows, especially at a certain Mr. Alexander Wang’s show.) Now French street photographer and illustrator Garance Dore is finding women with a genius and very easy way to DIY the trend: side braids. Simply braid your hair to one side of your head and let it rest on your shoulder. The more unfussy and mussed-up, the better. This is my new morning go-to hair. And you don’t have to have insane-o long hair (à la the chic girl, above)—this looks cute on shoulder-length hair, too! [Garance Dore]
