Polaroid has joined forces with Lady Gaga to revamp its brand, which is popular with hipsters but not most people in the digital age. The entities will develop a line of “imaging products.” We really have no idea what that means, and Gaga is remaining vague on the subject.
Here’s what she said in a press release:
“The Haus of Gaga has been developing prototypes in the vein of fashion/technology/photography innovation — blending the iconic history of Polaroid and instant film with the digital era — and we are excited to collaborate on these ventures with the Polaroid brand … Lifestyle, music, art, fashion: I am so excited to extend myself behind the scenes as a designer.”
Yeah, we’re still confused too. A press rep tried to clarify by explaining that Gaga would help to create “imaging products” that connect both the instant film category and the digital-imaging line. Uh, huh? Guess all will be revealed later this year when the products are expected to make their retail debut. [PopEater, The Wall Street Journal]
