Working in fashion, my apartment is constantly overrun with magazines. I’ve found every little nook and cranny to hide my favorites for storage, but sometimes, a few have to be sent down the trash chute. I’ll rip out choice editorials and shove them in scrapbooks or paste them on my inspiration board so as not to feel as though I’m completely abandoning an old friend. When the holidays or birthdays come around, I’ve found it’s the perfect time to recycle. You see, instead of buying wrapping paper (which I see as a huge waste of money), I carefully tear off magazine covers and use the glossy page as a present covering. Here’s a hint — W works best for larger books based on it’s size, while the international magazines are better choices in terms of aesthetics. My little DIY project is not only a innovative and decorative way of covering gifts, but a great way to re-use those beloved magazines. Or, if you’re not a magazine junkie like me, here are gorgeous, yet creative wrapping paper options for the holiday season.
