All I want for Hannukah is sweet new tunes! And although there are only three albums out this week, they are so good they’ll be in our CD player forevah, or until we get that MP3 jammy we’ve been asking for. But I digress, on with the hotness! We’ve got Alicia Keys playing footloose and fancy-free. Robin Thicke’s showing up Dr. Drew with his “Sex Therapy.” And Animal Collective, the experimental indie group, who made arguably the best album of the year, Merriweather Post Pavillion, won’t let 2009 get away until it’s played out with their awesomeness. Happy holidays, indeed! So, let’s get in to the groove after the jump.
Alicia Keys, The Element Of Freedom
We love just her and a piano. But kind of like semisweet vs. milk chocolate, this album is sonically richer and darker. These tracks have gorgeously complex thoughts, beats, and instrumentation. So much to love, so different. That’s Alicia!
Robin Thicke, Sex Therapy: The Session
One part JT, one part Marvin Gaye, this R&B bad boy wants to give you some healing. Some sexual healing.
Animal Collective, I Think I Can
The art indie sonic wizards whip up some bonus spellbinding songs.
