Remote Control: What You’ll Want To Watch The Week Of December 14th 2009

Television always gets a little glum this time of year—way too many shows have wrapped up until 2010. Lucky for us, there’s the season finales of “Nip/Tuck” and “So You Think You Can Dance,” not to mention a “Vampire Diaries” marathon and the hilarious “SNL” special, “A Very Gilly Christmas.” Holler.

The Show: “The Vampire Diaries”
Set Your DVR For: Every night this week, 8 to 10 p.m. (EST), The CW
We were too caught up in that other vampire love show to pay attention to “The Vampire Diaries.” So I’m glad that the CW is playing it marathon-style this week. The highlight: it stars Nina Debrov, i.e., the girl from “Degrassi: The Next Generation” who played the teen mom that slept with a football star to get her first modeling gig.

The Show: “Teen Mom”
Set Your DVR For: Tuesday, 10 p.m. (EST), MTV
“16 and Pregnant” was an amazing reality series. “Teen Mom” is the next generation, following Farrah, Maci, Amber, and Catelynn from the original show as they deal with having babies. Makes me never want to breed, ever.

The Show: “Nip/Tuck”
Set Your DVR For: Wednesday, 10pm (EST), FX
This is it people. The final episode of “Nip/Tuck.” Tuning in is highly recommended.

The Show: “So You Think You Can Dance”
Set Your DVR For: Wednesday, 8 p.m. (EST), Fox
It’s the season finale of “SYTYCD.” Go Jakob, go Jakob, go!

The Show: “A Very Gilly Christmas”
Set Your DVR For: Thursday, 8 p.m. (EST), NBC
Kristen Wiig as Gilly has been one of the highlights of “Saturday Night Live” in recent years. So I am very excited for Gilly’s holiday special, complete with Christmas-themed clips like “Dick in a Box” and monologues by Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin.
