Lara Stone was robbed! The term “Model of the Year” cracks me up and reminds me of that famous scene in “Zoolander” when Derek’s up against Hansel for the prize. But the truth is, the fashion industry takes this shiz for serious. While insiders would agree that Stone is clearly the obvious choice for ruling it in 2009, she’s not from the U.K. and, therefore, would not qualify to win the title at the British Fashion Awards held this week in Jolly Old. (See the red carpet pics here.) Georgia Jagger, daughter of Sir Mick and supermodel Jerry Hall, however, is the English rose who took the title home, beating out other rock progeny Daisy Lowe (Gavin Rossdale’s daughter) and former Burberry girl Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Actually, after a year involving that Vanity Fair story and that tres scandalous Hudson jeans ad, it makes sense. Could Georgia be the next supermodel? Maybe she already is?
