Annika’s Style Diary: Wednesday

What I’m Wearing Today:

Contrary to what most people may think, I do own some things with color, like this dress. When I saw it at my friend’s vintage shop, I wasn’t sure if it was me. I mean, I’m a bona fide, born and raised, New Yorker who probably could wear head-to-toe black for about two weeks without having to do laundry. But once I put it on, I knew it was to be mine because it fit like a glove. So what if it was $150, which is more than I’ve paid for any designer dress I own? The construction is excellent and it’s in great condition despite its age. Plus, I think it was hand-sewn, making it one-of-a-kind. Anyway, on to the modern accessories: I bought these earrings for my mom but never returned them after borrowing them once. I love this watch because it’s made of black metal and has a purple face. You can’t tell in this photo, but my shoes are actually teal ombré — they go from a dark, almost black, teal at the front to a lighter one at the back of the shoe.
