Remote Control: What You’ll Want To Watch The Week Of December 7th 2009

The holiday season is never the best in terms of television and, really, what other terms would we be talking about here? There are far too many reruns and new episodes tend to be Christmas-themed, which is just annoying. Not to mention the commercials that suggest you buy your loved ones cars as gifts? Really, who does that? But have no fear, there is some great TV coming up this week, from the season finale of “Top Chef” to the second episode of our new fave “Jersey Shore” — [Which I will be liveblogging in between doing shots of Jagermeister. Kidding! About the Jager. — Editor] — to Barbara Walters sitting down with the 10 most fascinating folks of the year. Check out previews after the jump.

The Show: “Top Chef”
Set Your DVR For: Wednesday, 10 p.m. (EST), Bravo
Hot, yummy-stuff-cookin’ brothers Michael and Bryan Voltaggio made it through to the season finale. Will one of them win? Or will it be dark horse contender, red-bearded Kevin?

The Show: “Glee”
Set Your DVR For: Wednesday, 9 p.m. (EST), Fox
Yes, I put “Glee” in my column every other week. But deal with it—I freaking love this show, and this is the last dose of it you’ll get until 2010. Plus, the kids finally go to sectionals. Woo hoo!

The Show: “Barbara Walters 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009″
Set Your DVR For: Wednesday, 10 p.m. (EST), ABC
The interviews we can’t wait for: Lady Gaga, Jenny Sanford, and Michael Jackson’s kids. The ones we don’t want to want watch but will totally relish: Adam Lambert, Sarah Palin, Kate Gosselin. The ones we’ll fast-forward through: Glenn Beck, Tyler Perry, Brett Favre.

The Show: “Jersey Shore”
Set Your DVR For: Thursday, 10 p.m. (EST), MTV
This show is my new favorite. Thinking of throwing a viewing party for it each week.

The Show: “The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty”
Set Your DVR For: Sunday, 9 p.m. (EST), A&E
When I first heard that the Jackson brothers were filming a reality show in the wake of Michael Jackson’s death, I thought … tacky. The previews really haven’t changed my mind. I mean, did they really record themselves at the funeral? Icky quote: “We’ll be the Jackson Five until the day we die.” Doh.
