Carrie Underwood is enjoying her hunky hockey boyfriend Mike Fisher, but announced on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” that she has no intention of sharing a love nest. “No, call me old-fashioned. He’s there. I’m here. We’re both doing our thing and it’s good,” she said. “The next guy I move in with will be my hubby. Whoever that is. I’m not saying it’s going to be him.” [People]
I’m totally with Carrie on this one. I’m not going to bother cohabiting with a guy unless I’m positive that we’re getting married. It’s hard enough breaking up with roommates and moving out—I can’t even imagine dealing with the emotional entanglement that comes with love. Here are some other celebs who won’t give up their bachelor/ette pads, either.
- Kim Kardashian is totally on my team. She said in July, “I’ve always wanted to buy a big house myself … I wish my sisters could move in with me. I don’t think I would ever live with someone unless I’m engaged. I’m really firm on that. I have done it before. I would tell all my friends, the best thing is to keep your independence. It feels really good to be able to buy a place by myself.” [Reality TV Magazine] — That’s totally how I feel, minus having the millions to make that happen. Hey Kim, need a roommate?
- Miley Cyrus was way too young to move in with her older former boyfriend, Justin Gaston, even though her dad approved. But she knows herself too well to take that leap, deciding that she’d probably go crazy pretty quickly. “I get annoyed really easily. I love him to death … but no … [Justin] is so smart, but just like, everything has to, like, go where it’s supposed to go and if it doesn’t, I get like really frustrated.” [Entertainment Wise] — Well, the girl might have the vocabulary of a Valley girl, but she’s kinda wise maybe?
- Just a year ago, when they were still dating, Chris Brown denied rumors that Rihanna was moving in. “I’m 19! I barely want my friends to stay over more than three days,” he said. [Snarkerati] — Well, I guess having friends and girlfriends over is a non-issue now that everyone’s still peeved at the singer?
- When Jamie Lynn Spears started looking for an apartment with her baby daddy boyfriend, Britney Spears and her lawyer sent a serious letter to their mom, begging her not to let Jamie Lynn move out. Brit thought Jamie Lynn was too young for an independent life. Looks like Momma Spears didn’t give it much attention as she’s now shacked up with her baby at the age of 18. [Celebrity Gossip] — My mom would have laughed so hard if I had told her I wanted to have a kid and move in with a boy at 18. She would still laugh actually. Dinger.
