Wearing Kids’ Clothes—Wrong Or Clever?

So, turns out adults have been chasing after Stella McCartney‘s new Gap Kids collection. Maybe it was Grazia magazine who put the idea into people’s heads that they could wear the line after its staffers put a video online of them trying on looks from the collection (and yes, the skinny ladies did fit into some of the styles that weren’t even the largest ones). Watch it here after the jump…

In any case, it would seem that the most popular item in the range—a Michael Jackson/military-inspired coat—has definitely been finding its way into the closets of grown-ups. Racked reports that in New York City, only one large size remains (although it’s surely gone by now). Is shopping the kids’ section: A) A clever and cheaper way to find some fun pieces, B) Upsetting because the only people who can wear it have to be super petite, or C) Sad because apparently the only really awesome designer collaborations out there are for the prepubescent set?
