Last night, starlets, socialites, the ones who straddle both and fashion figures (Versace sponsored) showed up for the Whitney Museum benefit in N.Y.C. As far as galas go, this one is a pretty classy event–as you can imagine heiress Evelyn Lauder did not do any keg stands or anything–and, sartorially speaking, most of the attendees played the safety dance, with some most interesting exceptions. Remember when you were too young to realize that youth is fleeting and you just couldn’t wait to prove your maturity? Taylor Momsen is giving us a lot of that lately. And hey, we have no problem with this cool, sophisticated gown, but the rock n’ roll fishnets (hard to see in this pic, sorry) are slightly questionable (you’ll have to trust). But then again, making odd fashion choices is just part of growing up.
