Folk legend Mary Travers of Peter, Paul and Mary may have been a revolutionary artist but she always managed to make fighting the Man look pretty damn good, too. She passed away yesterday after an ongoing battle with leukemia, but her particular brand of laid-back cool lives on.
- Mary rocked the white denim early on. It’s still a good style call today. [$70, Paige Premium Denim, Nordstrom]
- An understated peasant blouse is never a problem for a folk singer. Or you. [$345, Catherine Malandrino, Net-A-Porter]
- Travers was a fan of the striped, vaguely French-looking tee. We are too. [$52, Juicy Couture]
- Bangs. Long before every hipster in Williamsburg was rocking the blunt bang, Travers had that style locked down.
