Beauty Test Drive: Temptu AIRpod Foundation
As someone with an uneven skin tone, I have a hard time applying foundation (which I wear everyday). I generally use a brush, but end up taking my fingers to my face to even out the streaky lines it makes. With a sponge it’s also hard to get an even application because each time you re-dab it into a pool of foundation and then apply to the skin, you have to spread around the excess.
For people (like moi) who are obsessed with flawless skin, the Temptu AIRpod system will be a miracle worker. Previously a professional device used only for celebrities (um, even the guy ones, like Chace Crawford and Robert Pattinson), Sephora just began selling a consumer model this month. AIRpod lightly sprays color onto your skin. Because the lightweight (but awesome) coverage just sits on your skin, you really don’t need to blend, which is good news for acne-prone folks who fear finger oils. The system is, however, expensive. The base is over $200, but each pod refill contains two months worth of makeup, which, depending on your routine, could be a better value for a better foundation. Am I nuts for thinking this is a good deal or… ? [$225 for base, $55 per pod, Sephora.com]
