Remote Control: What You’ll Want To Watch The Week Of August 31st 2009
This week’s television forecast is … partly cloudy. There’s the season premiere of “Greek,” the HBO beauty-obsession doc “Youth Knows No Pain,” more drama with the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” (duh), and a reprisal of “Glee,” complete with cast and crew commentary. But while there’s lots going on, we’re all kind of looking forward to next week, which will be a veritable television-gasm. So make sure to check back so you don’t miss the biggest week of premieres all year.
The Show: “Greek”
Set Your DVR For: Tonight, 9 p.m. (EST), ABC Family
We used to think ABC Family was kind of lame, but last season of “Greek” was actually pretty great, as it’s one of the few shows on the air about the insanity of college life. Check it out.
The Show: “Youth Knows No Pain”
Set Your DVR: Tonight, 9 p.m. (EST), HBO
This documentary, by the daughter of a plastic surgeon who’s approaching 30, looks at the inanity of the $60-billion “youth” industry. Just how far will people go to look a little bit younger? It gets pretty darn extreme.
The Show: “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”
Set Your DVR For: Thursday, 10 p.m. (EST), Bravo
Ahhh, why do I love this show so much? This week’s episode shows you NeNe’s alter-ego photo shoot, and the long-awaited sit-down between Lisa and Kim.
The Show: “Glee”
Set Your DVR For: Friday, 9 p.m. (EST), Fox
Did you miss the preview of “Glee” last May? That sucks, because it was AMAZING. Here’s your chance to see it before the actual season premiere on September 9. Oh, and the cast, writers, and creators will be Twittering the episode at @GLEEonFOX.
