The world’s largest cupcake was unveiled this weekend at a car show in Michigan. The behemoth triple vanilla cupcake with pink frosting weighed in at 1,224-pounds, beating the former record holder eight times over and by an estimated 2 million calories…that’s about 1,600 days worth of calories, by my calculations. The decadent beauty took 12 hours to bake and required 800 eggs and 200 pounds of sugar and flour. Slices were sold to raise money for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure breast cancer organization, so it didn’t go to waste! But I’ve got an issue—what makes this a cupcake besides the cupcake wrapper? If a cupcake is just a miniature cake, isn’t something that big just a cake in disguise? [Associated Press]
