Common + Cologne = Free Concert
If you’re a big fan of Lonnie Rashid Lynn Jr., aka Common, and like so many chicks we know, prefer to wear men’s cologne because so much girly perfume smells like fruit and pink flowers, then listen up: To celebrate his new Diesel fragrance, the rapper is holding a private concert for his friends and celebrity fans at NYC venue Capitale, which is small enough to ensure that onlookers just might get close enough to literally smell him. But what’s a girl who’s not a close personal friend or “celebrity fan” to do? Starting August 10, the first 500 people to make a Diesel Only The Brave purchase of $117.50 or more at Macy’s in Herald Square (and other select NYC locations) will receive two general admission tickets to this exclusive concert. Normally we’re not the hugest celebrity fragrance fans around here but you might be surprised at Common’s complex combo: With top notes of lemon blossom, mandarin and coriander leaves; a heart of labdanum, black rose and lavender; and a dry down of amber, tolu and ebony woods, this stuff actually smells really good. So there.
